Being Frugal

Being Frugal

Hmm... lets see what people think about when you hear this word.
I love Saving and having more money because of these saving steps but in the back of my head I have a knotted crunchy thought, "don't spend anything, you can't spend anything".  This is the underbelly I feel isn't shown in those beautifully written how to be frugal articles I like looking at everywhere. So let's touch on this.
I Recently have gone over this issue with my husband, we had reached a point that not spending anything with was the only way to be frugal-er then we already were. It has been a long hard track to this point, we worked really hard to get our finances in order, to make a budget, and to keep on top of our bills. I grew to have a new mindset, one that would let me walk past the pretty little girl dresses at target without the wistful glance. This mindset helps with most things, Buying food, clothing, furniture, and other everyday things, except it also gives you an internal conflict. This conflict is a big one, whether you should get mad at yourself for any purchase or be ok with that one mindless purchase, it's hard to feel alright with either really, both are spending your concentration. I guess the only way to make this work better is to understand that although you have a budget and know you shouldn't over spend, not spending is hard to do, period. there are advertisements everywhere and when it makes you feel good to buy things in general, Walmarts vanilla,  it makes not purchasing anything a downright difficult thing to do.

Sometimes it feels like I need to go to a group of people and stat," I haven't spent anything in 7 days and feel horrible because today I indulged in a lip balm." Its not really about the small purchase but those still make my stomach squirm, I know why, I used to make tons of these purchases so many so that I would have no money at all by the end of the week. I guess it still makes me have a panic attack, like I'm falling off the wagon of shopping or something. If being a frugal person makes these purchases always feel so rotten I want to give a piece of advice to all others, You might need the outlet, You've held the money tight, you aren't spending willy nilly,  give yourself that one small thing every so often so when you walk past the next item of your dreams it wont be so hard.

If you have any feelings about this please share, it can only help the rest of us be better people.

  Baby Bottle Game
  By Casey Duer

So I throw this really great baby shower a little bit ago and one of the games was the baby bottle race. The premise of this game is to finish 4 oz of liquid first, which doesn’t sound hard until your sucking at the end of a first step bottle as hard as you can and not getting anywhere. This of course was a hit when we did it, a total of 8 people participated and took around five minutes for the winner to finish. I prepared the bottles making a nifty little sign that I taped with transparent tape to each one giving the participants a quick description of the game and made the bottles go with the theme of the party, aqua and light purple.

Then it was time for them to chug, I filled each with water to the 4 oz. Line to make things fair, you can use juice or if the mom to be isn't participating maybe alcohol. If the mom isn't reusing the bottles I’d cut a small hole in the top of each to make it a tad bit faster, although it is amusing to see adults sucking baby bottles. Hope this makes your baby shower a bit more fun!

The Bite Proof
This is the story of the bite proof, by Casey Duer
Once long ago a manufacturer decided that kids needed special specifically made cups. This started a long line of products know as the baby isles, these isles boosted many different products from hard plastics to see through squishy things. Only a few ventured deeply into these isles because of need for the exclusive bite proof vessel. These vessels could withstand the teething of tiny teeth all the way to large child champers.
With this goal in mind the meaningful mama would scourer the isles for something unbreakable, with little luck and many failings having purchased something they think will work but later find in the corn of a child's room with holes leaking a beverage everywhere.
Then one day a special cup was found that was slightly higher in price but lasted through out the years, it was of the name Tommy Tippee and would not go holy no matter how many teeth teared on it.
This glorious period last a long season until more were needed for the larger brood and money was of great consequence. So the lone mama ventured out again with the bite proof in mind, she again scoured those torturous shelves. Store after store, she found nothing until she came across "the cheap ones". These were the ones used as a last resort by many a daycare, but they looked sturdy enough so she tried them.
And you know what they worked, so well she bought they're counterpart with a straw. To this day they are being used and abused, the prince and the popper, by a hungry teething crowd who can bite through anything else.
  The end.

A Little About Myself

Hello!

I'm Casey, a creative, cognitive and caring Momma of three. My husband and I have worked hard on building a great coexistence together that consistently gets improved upon.
My children range in age, Bug is 7 years old, Bud is 3 years old and Baby who's 1 year and some months. I love teaching the kids new and creative things when I can while sticking to making them better humans everyday.
While creating a small homestead, craft shop to sell what I make and keeping the home clean I'm trying to figure out what type of person I want to be and how I can present my self better to the world. Hopefully this will inspired someone, make other laugh or give you an idea. Keep being new! Casey
